Other battery conditioners employ an internal transformer utilising Linear technology.
Linear technology simply transforms the input voltage of 240v and so also transfers any spikes and voltage fluctuations in the mains supply.
These spikes can, and do, damage electronic equipment fitted to the vehicle, such as Engine Management Systems, in-car entertainment and alarm/immobilisers.
Primary Switch Mode, on the other hand, utilises a purely electronic transformation of the voltage from 240 to 12 volts, thus eliminating the transmission of any spikes.
When in Condition mode, the CTEK 3600 uses Pulse Maintenance - this prevents batteries from both gassing and overheating, which means the Charger can be left connected for long periods without problems.
